Ferguson 35 with Power steering

I have a sequel. Thought it was loose belt... it is now hulk tight. Still when it heats up a bit at low rpm sequel is back.
Ideas? Bad alternator? other? thanks in advance. Continental engine pulled out of the it is the Cont.134 out of 35 put it
on my F40

Make sure the belt fits the pulleys properly. Could be the pulley is worn or the belt too narrow. If the bottom of the pulley V is polished shiney, the belt is running too low, not gripping the sides as it should.

Another test is to carefully apply some bar soap to the belt, see if that stops or changes the squeal. That will determine if it really is the belt, not a seized bearing.

Also check the pulley alignment. If something has been changed or modified (don't recall a belt driven ps pump on those), could be alignment problems.

And try taking the belt off, do a temporary start up, see if the noise is gone. While it's off, turn and feel and listen to each accessory.

The pump and controls for the 3 point are in the belly, not related to the steering or any belt driven accessories.

This is the power steering pump that should be on that tractor.

Some z134 engines did not have the mount for the gear driven pump. That is why we think maybe the pump was added.

Yes it is the one that I have and the one I used on the engine swap I made sure new block had the PS and then put my old one on it when I switched out Continental. My old one had cracked block.

Ok, so your power steering pump is not pulley driven from what you are saying so I think that's what is throwing some of us off. So really your belt runs from the crank pulley, turns the water pump and alternator/generator.
I had a squeal on my 35 with a homemade alternator conversion. My alignment was a little bit off which caused a squeal at higher RPM and a low/no charge condition. A few small tweaks were all that was needed to get the squeal to go away and get consistent charging.

Oh, and be careful having the belt too tight as it can prematurely wear the bearings in the alt. and water pump. I'd loosen it off if it hasn't made the squeal go away and check alignment etc.
