Hi guys on tea20 I just got to renovate it will start with the choke out and will run with the throttle on for a minute then dyes Then to restart Again I have to pull the choke to run then once going a put choke back in and us the throttle it dies soon after again. I think the card needs to be set up ? Any ideas cheers steve I have looked in the book for setting the card up would I tighten all the adjustment screws up tight the turn then turn to the approximately setting. Or should I take the card of and give it a good clean. Cheers Steve

Remove Fuel Cap from FUEL TANK:

Remove fuel line at Carburetor:

Open fuel shut off valve at gas tank:

Verify good strong steady flow of fuel:

Connect fuel line to carburetor:

Open drain valve/port at bottom of carburetor and verify good strong steady flow of fuel from bottom of Carb:

If there is a strong steady flow of fuel set carb. as per pictures. Turn Valves in until they bottom (be gentle) then out as per pictures:

Try starting engine. If Engine continues to die as you have explained dismantle carb. clean, install carb kit and set carb. Try starting engine:

There is a hidden pain in the @r$e fuel filter hidden inside the fuel tank of a TEA20 . It is fitted to the top of the fuel tap and resembles a half an upright cigarette. Made of an inferior bronze mesh it disintegrates and blocks the intake with hundreds of bits of corroded metal .
Remove the fuel tap and cut off the remains of the filter if any still exist , blow out the entire tap with compressed air . I fitted a half inch riser made of copper pipe to keep sediment from the bottom of the tank entering the line .
Next time it starts to fail quickly pull out the choke , if the engine recovers even if only for a moment then fuel delivery is the likely culprit .

. Hi guys thanks a lot for your reply I will try at weekend when there is light as dark when I get home. Cheers again steve
