Hi all,
Complete novice on fergies, so looking for some help. I had a Fordson Major 6 cyl which was too big for my smallholding so sold it and got a Tef20 and having trouble with setting position of implements. So as I understand the Tef20 only had draft control, and found that you can buy an after market kit to have position control but when looking at photos on the web I noticed my controls are different to other tef20s.
From what I can see I may already have position control? Or is it something else?
As you can see on the dipstick cover there is what I can only presume is a lift valve which was not connected to the arm. I briefly connected it but it only pulls the plunger? up a fraction but I did not start the tractor as I am still uncertain what it really is. I can see on the quadrant there is a raised cam which should engage on the wheel of the arm below but it is quite sloppy when I connected to the arm so its not really engaging.
I think I understand that when the control lever is pushed CW it engages the raised cam and lifts the plunger of the valve on the cover. But as for what it is meant to do internally is a mystery to me.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
