I have a new to me TEF 20.
It has no starting handle and the electric starter will not turn the apparently seized engine.
I have seen people unstick an engine by applying lube to the cylinders jacking up the tractor and resting an axle stand on the engaged hand
crank, that way having cnstant turning force on the engine by the tractor weight forcing down on the crank handle.
Is their a way to apply the same force from the pto shaft if i cannot find a hand crank some where.

A gentleman on YT Tractors has a video on U-TUBE:

Starting a Ford 9N tractor using a flat belt pulley from Ford 8N.

The method would be the same for a Fergy, etc, etc,

Fitted with an Horndraullic loader as well , you are a lucky sort aren't you !

Auto transmission fluid and thinners , mixed into equal parts as a releasing agent , how you would get this into a TEF is up to you . The try to lever the engine around using a big screwdriver against the teeth of the ring gear once the starter motor is removed . This worked on my really stuck FE35.

I bought the tractor specifically for the loader. My last fergy back around 2009 did not have a loader and I had to build one from parts I bought and scrounged from all round the Townsville region. I no longer have that tractor nor did I have any photos of it untill I remembered this site where I had posted a few.

Charles, I'm in No way being smart, but how did you define Very stuck. Its just that when towing this tractor into my yard going over short grass I had a mad moment and slipped it into 4th then lifted the clutch and the while right hand wheel was turning forward the left began to turn in reverse. So thats how stuck mine is, I have never had to deal with a seized engine before and did not expect it from a diesel.
Admittedly the grass was soft and damp, very rare here but the little bit of a wet season has just finished.

The bloke I bought the Grey and Gold FE35 from towed it at five km and did the same , all it did was skid on the gravel road . After a week of the solution all it took was a gentle levering to move it slightly back and forth until it freed . Of course if your TEF was seized from overheating or a dry bearing this probably won't help .
From what I gather a TEF is a pig of an engine to rebuild but plenty of men better than me have done it .

Thank you both Charles and Thomas.
Im very glad to hear that I may beable to apply more force by levering the ring gear directly, as the loader frame is going to make it very hard to get the injectors out.
For the moment i found that I have no pto shaft small enough to fit the TEF, oops. So no way to use the pto to turn the engine.
So I jacked up the rear wheel and put a small hydraulic jack below one of the ag cleats then lowered the wheel onto it. I will try to remove the starter tomorrow.

I have taken the starter motor off and the teeth seem to have a bit of wear as though they have been slipping on the ring gear, but thats just a guess, never been inside a Tef before.

I did try a large srew driver on the ring gear but found it difficult to maintain pressure due to stretching round the loader frame. But I suppose that stopps me forcing too much.

After this with help from John Deere D I got the injectors out and cylinder 2 was full of water.
