TO20 running problem

New wiring , new plug wires , plugs good, new rotor, points and condenser , cap good, but one on order anyway. Fuel line checked, carb rebuilt. New battery as well. Ran perfect, aside from the accelerator being adjusted too tight and wanting to idle back down, which was temp solved by holding throttle lever, cause I needed to get the weeds in front knocked down right away, after an hour and a half, I shut down to eat some lunch . Decided to put my scaper blade on to get some left over stubborn weeds that my dragger couldn't get. Started fine, backed 25 feet to scraper, and hooked up, pulled around front, 25 feet, started heading toward other side of yard to pull back toward the way I came, and tractor started sputtering, double checked gas valve, jumped off and unscrewed gas cap to make sure there wasn't a venting issue , didn't change anything, after several moments of this I decided to head back to park the tractor , and address issue. The Fergie sputtered then died. After several tries, I was unable to refire it. Any suggestions ? Did I miss something ? Where do I start? Can someone help?

Bottom plug out of carb fuel flow should look like cow pithin on flat rock. If it does not, clean filter in elbow going to carb first, then work your way up. If it fires and runs good cold, could be an overheated ign coil.
You have enough ideas. Report back with your findings. Hope you found two of 10 million plus starter bolts.

Thanks for info guys. I have not located the starter bolts ywt, concentrating on the tractor running right now. Over heated coil? I did not change it, does that mean it's going bad? I'll check fuel lines again today after work

What was it doing BEFORE you installed all that new equipment? In other words, why did you put on the new parts in the first place?

incorrect wiring, old wires, no ballast resistor, burnt points. I'm assuming at this point that might have also ruined the coil, however , even though not replaced, it ran great for over an hour of work . That confuses me a little , but also says I should replace it again. I replaced it and plugs when we first got it, it ran great till it had carb issues, with sticky float. Which caused a carb rebuild which it needed anyway, it hadn't been touched.

Also, now that I think back, it was starting sputtering then too as well as carb over flowing if gas not turned off right away, or turned open too much, and at the end didn't matter. It would empty the line too. We figured because of not having the ballast resistor in place was cause of burnt to nothing points. And corroded connections, bare wire showing, and loose connections, plus inaccurate wiring that I figured out thanks to Yesterday's Tractors wiring diagram, which I corrected, would solve the problems. Motor sounds strong, doesn't burn oil, has good compression. We did all this cause my wife fell on love with it, and after seeing them repainted and fixed up right, we were on a mission. Hope that answers everything . Thanks again for all the help . We so appreciate it .

Cleaned entire fuel system. Flushed out tank, scrubbed the sediment bowl assembly , scrubbed bowl and screen , blew out fuel line with air and carb cleaner , cleaned carb elbow again. Replaced sediment bowl gasket , filled with fuel, installed new vented cap. Hooked up battery , turned on key, it fired right up, worked in field for over 2 straight hours, with no issues. Thanks for the help, Fergie is running like new.
