My background is such, we always placed a flat washer on any bolt,Cap screw,or fastener that comes in contact with an ALUMINIUM or Aluminium/Magnesium alloy casting.
Over the years our TEA 20 has been split at the bell housing twice to replace the clutch assembly. The fasteners (cap screws)that attach the Bell housing to the Engine block have flat washers only..."This does not necessarily make it original, or correct as per FERGUSON"
