TO-30 distributor

I am refurbishing my TO-30's distributor and was wondering about the centrifugal advance plates and if they needed to lubricated. They were fairly clean when I disassembled the unit, but seemed dry. If they should be lubricated, with what. I finally got around to getting an owner's manual and said I needed to oil the dist occasionally. Well, I've only owned it 20 years, and had never oiled it! Guess I may need to be oiled too!

I use engine oil.

Grease would be too thick, tends to dry out and leave hard cake behind.

A little oil will work great.
