Hello I have a 47 tea uk model and wondering what I should be able to lift with boom lift I built this lift on my own and tested it and it would hold my weight 250 lbs I want to use to skid logs and don't want to bring it out to the bush just to not work please help I tore inspection covers off to inspect everything look and fells normal I think also is there a way to get more lifting per my putting a tighter spring in pess release valve

I have an Australian made Ferguson boom that I use on my TED . They don't have a rated lifting capacity stated in literature , they do lift a lot but then they bend as well . I have lifted a two furrow plough , that's probably the most I would try . The danger is carrying a heavy load and hitting a bump , the load on the lift can be too much despite the relief valve , too much of a belt and the lift cover can crack .

Bad idea in general.
Beyond the mechanical dangers Charles mentioned, the chance of rolling over backwards is- certain. The first stump or rock will see saw the tractor on the back axle, with you on the seat.
You need to put up with the log on a choke chain hooking stumps etc, because the ONLY safe way to skid is from a drawbar bolted to the bottom of the diff, any higher is just an accident waiting to happen.
Using your jib to lift up to ??? 800 pounds? While sitting in one spot, stationary, is fine, but not to roll thru the woods like that. Be careful up there.

I wish I had a Camera (1972?). As a Ferguson with a HOME BUILT Boom Lift was traveling forward towing a 3/4 Ton pickup truck. And yes the front end of the TRACTOR off the ground. The TOP of the HYDRAULIC LIFT COVER split from Port to Starboard under the operators seat!

It's you Machine and your $ ...hope you do not get hurt:

Do I need to rebuild the pump and cylinder

A 1947 model TEA will have the first series lift cylinder fitted , these did fail under heavy loads . The mounting lugs would shear off allowing it to shift sideways , the unbalanced forces would then crack the cylinder wall .
The lift rating for this early pump/cylinder was 600 lbs when new .
The cylinders were changed a further three times , at each design change the cylinder was further strengthened with extra ribbing and heavier mounting lugs . This increased the lift rating first to 800 lbs , then finally at serial number 330043 to 1000lbs.
The pressure relief valve on the first pumps was set at a lower blow off pressure than later ones [ 1500 Lbs per square inch ] .
Replacement valves for the lower pressures are no longer available , the valves made for the later pump are used instead [ 2000 pounds per square inch ]. This does give you a higher lift capacity on the older pump/cylinder combination , but of course you must be prudent in its use .

For skidding logs about, a caliper / scissor like clamp works the best .

I have use this with a chocker chain to skid logs with my 9n. Chain to log and raise a couple of inches off the ground, shut the PTO off so it doesn't continue to raise
up. I would not use a boom pole.
