Ten Year Restoration..........

As much as possible I reused the original parts after repair, overhaul or reconditioning.

The hood side flashes are not original - I bought them in the States on one of my visits, to replace the cheap screened aluminium stick on Ferguson badges that were applied to Ferguson tractors sold in Australia.

The engine was reconditioned a decade ago and rebuilt with an after market engine kit. Probably done five hours running in the last dozen years!

Chrome shifters give another 20 MPH!!!

An admirable accomplishment! Is the ROPS original, or an add on? I didn't know if they made ROPS that far back or not. If not, I can well understand why it was installed. I have been thinking about building one for my TO-30.

No, the ROPS is not OE.

In Australia approved ROPS are a legal requirement and must be manufactured to an approved structure. No home made ROPs.

Very good job Bob. As you know (or should) the 2014 Expo will be held in Indiana. You get it shipped over here and I will make sure it gets from the port to Lagrange, In. Even though there are no trophy's presented I would put a purple ribbon on it. If you would like FENA to raffle that off on a 50/50 basis that would give you some money to buy another one so you don't get bored for the next 10 years. You have already told us the two Jags, and the Sea Ray 290 are finished so that leaves a tiny amount to do on Fergy. I haven't heard much about the ROVER lately is that the next project? LOL

Hi Richard.

When is the Expo in Indiana? I promised to visit daughter in Houston and go sailing in Florida and across to the Bahamas, so it may be possible to fit in visits to other areas.

Last time I was in the USA I visited a really wonderful guy in Florida that had the most amazing collection of Ferguson tractors and implements - three barns full of restored tractors and implements!!! It was the first time I'd seen a TO series and TE Continental engine tractor.

I intended to retire next month but somehow yesterday got elected to the Board of the corporation I manage. At least the commitment is mostly a monthly Board meeting and not every day at work.

Once retired I'll have more time to visit old friends around the world, including all you good guys in the Ferguson fraternity in the USA. Language could be a problem but I guess we'll work out some way to communicate!! (I need my daughter to translate in Texas - God knows what language they speak there but it certainly is not any version of English I understand!)

I hope to start my new life from October, move 300 miles east to my new home on the water with the Sea Ray in the community Marina.

I bought Fergy in 1986. Whilst I don't have a use for her now I don't have the heart to sell. I'll put it in storage and pull it out for Fergy Club field days.

Tough life, but someone has to do it I guess!!!

aaaaaaaa.... nothing I own will ever look that good. Even if it came out that nice, after the second hour back in the cabbage patch, you'd never know...
What's this punch line about cheap paint??? If anyone knows where Rustoleum is on sale lately... I'll take all they got in stock! I found- by accident, a rattle can of REALLY cheap primer... identical match for a patch of original grey on a 19" rim. I was thinking about buying a load of it, and clear coating over it as a finished coat... just another idea floating out there...
Speaking of floating... ever reckon there Bob? if you didn't spend so much time and grosh on your hole in the water- the fergie would have been finished ages ago!!!
When I was down under, it seemed the were more old tractors in marinas than on farms... every boat over 6 meters seemed to have it's own fergie or Fordson to trailer it around... in and out of salt water.... that should be an international crime......

Modern view doesn't forgive that easily does it? I've done a double post before, this was the first triple post! Sorry mate!

hey the turned out real nice and I do mean real, thanks for the pics that is something to be proud of great job Bob

Bob, I really hope you have a great time visiting your daughter this year and then you can come back August 7, 8, 9, 2014 to the Ferguson Expo in Indiana. I realize you used to fly but if you need any modern day flight planning you can probably talk to Sam40 he stays up to date on the many different flights into the U.S. from Ireland. Since you will be on the board you tell the others no board meeting in August as you have made other plans. See you in Lagrange, In.

"....different flights into the U.S. from Ireland."

Australia - Ireland - USA, interesting way for an Aussie to get to the USA! I have just as much trouble understanding the Irish accent - and them understanding my Aussie accent!

QANTAS, our Australian airline operates direct to DFW (16 hours  ) which is good for visiting daughter in Houston. The other alternate is a US carrier Australia to LAX with connections anywhere.

I was noticing this tractor has an identical looking oil filter canister along with adjustable pressure relief and inside there's a safety valve and I'm wondering if that could be my problem with oil pressure drop. Have you had any problems with the safety valve.Great looking tractor by the way.Toonee! don't try to order parts online.

With the new oil pressure gauge I'm getting 60 psi plus cold and 40 psi hot, which I feel is slightly high. I want to try another gauge before I start fiddling. If the gauge is not over reading I may knock the pressure back a little but need to read up in the manual first.

What oil pressures are you getting and what grade of oil?

Mine goes from wherever its set to around 10 lbs and probably would drop to 0 if ran longer. What does your manual say about the safety valve function?

do they require a seatbelt be installed with ROPS? if tractor flips and you land under that massive bar you will pinched in two by the p.s.i. in the u.s.a if you have a rollbar on a piece of equipment it requires a seatbelt be worn. be careful to never drive under a limb with that safety feature or you will be upside down before you know it.

I am away until Thursday on business but will check the manual when I get home and let you know here.

Seat belts are not required with ROPS. They are designed to only stop the tractor rolling completely over. I think the law in Australia is that a tractor must have a ROPs if it is in a work place or being sold by a licensed dealership or seller. Government can't really stop a private owner operate a tractor on his own property without a ROPs.

A friend of mine paints paintings of airplanes, cars and scenes.

He has just completed the painting of my TEA20 - apologies for the poor quality photo, the tractor is on a brilliant white background, not cream:

Painted from this photo:

I have paintings of all my toys!!
