Money? Who's counting?

I've had a 1954 TO30 for almost 20 years. It was very tired and worn. Started the tear down in October and finished in March.
New sleeves, new pistons, new connecting rods and bushings, oil pump rebuild, new main bearings, turned crankshaft, resurfaced flywheel, new ring gear for flywheel, head work with new valves, new water pump, new front axle pivot and the pivot pin hole reworked, new front spindles and wheel bearings, new steering arm connectors. Probably forgot something but that is a pretty good list. Oh yeah, new paint. Before anyone comments about the color being Massey red and gray, let me say I spent way too much money to not paint it the way I like..
I have used this site for lots of info, love it. The people on here are great. I believe I paid $2550 for it 20 years ago and just spent around $2500 on this rebuild. Hopefully good for another 20 years of mowing, bush hog work, tilling, etc.

Is THAT all??
New sleeves, pistons, connecting rods and bushings, oil pump rebuild, replace oil pick up tube seals, new main
bearings, rod bearings, turned crankshaft, resurfaced flywheel, new ring gear for flywheel, Kevlar clutch disc,
head work with new valves, new water pump, new front axle pivot and the pivot pin hole reworked, new front
spindle bushings, repack front wheel bearings, new grease seals. Sure seals on Rear axle, radiator replaced,
install thermostat, rebuild Hupp transmission-busted gear, replace bearings in final drive, change trans fluid,
add water temp gauge, hour meter, volt meter, amp meter, master electrical disconnect, Rebuild steering box,
add grease zerk to new top bearing collar, belts, hoses, spark pugs, points, condenser, ign rotor, dist cap,
ign wires, 12V conversion, add solenoid to starter system, rebuild Rest-O-ride seat, new tires on rear, new
tires on front, new exhaust system, Lower 3 PT arms replaced, rear brakes, rebuild air cleaner, carb rebuild,
add fuel shut off solenoid, Hyd pump rebuild, rework hyd linkage by welding elongated holes in linkage back to
being round with sections of carbon rod, weld in diamond plate behind front axle for additional strength to add
FEL that has not been done yet and probably never will at this point, tie down hooks on front axle, place fire
extinguisher on 3 Pt linkage...and paint. She stopped counting at 5 grand. I stopped a bit higher. Then I found
the updated parts for the Hupp trans that will stop it from hanging up between ranges. That means it comes
apart again and *might* get an Everett trans installed also at that time. Oh yeah, I didn't add the value of
the Everett to the price tag either. That kinda showed up after I stopped counting.

Ha ! I don't believe any of us do this with the illusion of making any money on it. I like it, I use it and I don't want to spend the money for a new compact tractor. So a $2500 investment is justified in my feeble mind.
I forgot to mention my family bought a new seat as my Christmas present. A new clutch disc was installed to mate up with the resurfaced flywheel.
As I said earlier, I enjoy reading everyone's story and description of their problems that need solving. Learn something everyday.

I am with Duner. It took 60 years to get that bad, and the first 40 were tough ones. So this one living 'hopefully' an easier life, should be around in 100 or 120 years.
When I first rebuilt a 30, and told a local I had over 2500 into it, he thought that was OK, he'd give me more than that for it- since he knew I rebuilt it. It's not in the 600 dollars clunker class anymore.
I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the time and money you put into it. Good job.

(quoted from post at 19:45:42 03/09/17) By the way, the wife does not know about this site, so the $ amount is our little secret.
Forgot the new carb and new bushings with the new front spindles. Had to search a bit to find someone who could ream the new bushings.

(reply to post at 19:43:16 03/09/17) [/Nice tractor but I'm not sure the brakes are going to hold going down hill in that top picture! Pretty steep!

I am not sure what happened with the pic. It is as it should be when I view this thread on my iPad, but is turned 90 degrees when I view it on a laptop. Technology is not exactly my best friend.
