Rock shaft for TO20

totrouble

New User
Hello forum, my father (82) and I (50)are having some issues with our T20 and hope you can help out.

Last weekend while raising a light load on a carry all we heard a loud pop in the lift. Upon inspection we found that the Hydraulic lift arm lever, the part around the rock shaft had broken. Rosebud, press and hammer later we have it apart and started the look for parts.

We decided to do a total rebuild including: hyd. cylinder, piston and rings, new dog bone/rod (worn), new lift arm lever (I think I have found the only NOS one left in the country on Ebay and have it on the way, original MF part, not Ford 8N), a used, but better condition draft control wishbone, new rock shaft bushings, gasket set and here is the hard part, rock shaft.

Everything is available, except the rock shaft itself (#890722M1). It is listed everywhere, but nobody has it in stock. Tried here, but got back-ordered with no chance in sight.

My question is: Is there an interchange with any of the Ford products for the shaft. It appears that almost all of the other hydraulic system parts are interchangeable with 2N 8N 9N NAA Jubilee etc., but I can find no information about the rock shaft itself. It might be the same as a Ford NCA544B, but I don't know.

The old one is pretty worn/rusted where it passed through the case bushings and we would like to do it all while we have it apart. We are looking for a new instead of used part if we can get it.

Thank You for any information you can provide.

Hydraulic Lift Shaft. An apple is an apple. An Orange is an orange. Get yourself a Ford 9N/2N top cover. Same
machine, different engine/trans.

If ITEM # 1 is the Component you are inquiring about, according to FERGUSON PARTS BOOK Form No. 693 041 M2 ITEM # 1 is the same part # as used in the below:

TO 20...TO 30...9N...2N....TE20....TEA20:

Once again, I'm only going by what the FERGUSON PARTS BOOK Form No. 693 041 M2 lists: 1957 MHF Inc.

Yes, item #1 is the part. Thank you for finding that information. I figured it had to interchange. I will use this new information to pursue the part.

Thank You.

You are right Bruce and that may be the path we have to take so long as we can find one with a good shaft. We already have all of the other parts on the way for the rebuild.

Thank You
