Haven't been on the forum for a long time, and was reading some of the old threads.
The subject of flippin' squirrels came up with them eating the seats on the guys tractors. That would put me hot.
I live trap them out, because I live in town where shooting is verbooten. They dig up my yard like a four legged excavation crew.
I have a 50 ft. pin oak tree and my neighbor has a large walnut tree, so there's no lack of food.
I started trapping 4 years ago, and the first year I got 27, the next year 49, last year a 100, and 50 this year. I could have gotten 20 or more but the nuts and acorns were thick, and I couldn't entice them in.
A trusty pellet gun got a few of them in season on the sneak, however I saw eight of them chasing each other across the street in December so I suppose it's more of those tree rats this year.

(quoted from post at 18:16:26 02/05/17) What bait do you use?

Black oil sunflower seeds. A small handful on a board bigger than the trap, and then set the trap on it with the seeds under the paddle.
Works good.
