low gear sherman transmission

My TE 20 has a 3 speed Sherman transmission. Low,direct, and over. I have always used the low gear position on the Sherman when pulling logs, large rocks, and other heavy things. Wanted to know if the low gear on the Sherman was meant for the type of things I do with it.
The Sherman transmission, as far as I know, is a thing of the past. Wish I had one in my ford 8N. Just wanted the opinion of others on the forum who may have Sherman transmisions in their tractors.

Pulling with the Sherman is no problem. Should you ever want to switch your Sherman from your TE to your 8N that would not be a problem either.

Thank you for the information. Didn't realize the Sherman would fit in my 8N.. Foot controls and getting on and off my 8N is easier for me that when operating the TE20.

I'll check you tube to see if the process for changing and installing a Sherman is available

Pretty simple, split both tractors and make the switch. Make sure you use the shims needed. Put the other input shaft in the TE and button it up.
BTW you can't switch the Ford into the Ferguson without altering the case and top cover.
