Can someone shed some light on the removal of the water pump housing from the engine block on a TO-30/Z129 motor?

There are 3 bolts or nuts that have to come off, then if you can't get it off take a rubber hammer and hit it a few time kinda easy should fall off!!! SHOULD.

I've remove the housing from 134 and don't know if the 129 is same. But the 134 has 3 bolts to remove pump, then remove the two bolts on bottom of housing. There is a stud that goes into block (at 8 oclock) it also is one of the bolts that hold water pump on. With bolts out start working housing out little by little by prying on side of housing and block working it off stud (at 8 o'clock) I oil--WD45-on stud to loosen. Don't pry real hard so not to break. There is usually a lot of rust around stud. I've oiled overnight if it doesn't move easily. Hope this helps but I'm sure someone will answer that has removed the 129.

Picture of housing. Hole is where the stud is where pump sets on housing.

it's been awhile but I will take a shot:
drain water/af
remove hood
remove upper and lower hoses
remove radiator
loosen fan belt and remove
remove fan
remove water pump

you may be able to do it without removing radiator or hood

most likely forgot something.

Just fought the same problem. Soaked the bolt located at 8 o'clock with penetrating oil and let set overnight. Pryed with screwdriver etc. My screw up was prying and driving a bar behind it and I gouged the back of the pump body. RTV and a new gasket seems to have it sealed, but be careful to not make my mistake.
