Hi as I pull bits and pieces off my Fergy so that I can put her all back together again better than new I have encountered a lot of bolts nuts etc that are badly ceased and have given my rattle gun a real testing. Some bolts have simply broken in trying to free them up. So when putting them back on I thought a little grease would not hurt or oil. What do others do.

If you plan on painting it, probably don't want grease on the bolts. The paint should protect them from rusting.
But I do dab a little grease on the lug studs, and use anti seize on manifold and exhaust bolts, spark plugs, etc.

The bolts used on assembly at the UK Ferguson factory in Coventry were always used dry . This is probably why they all stick like the proverbial $h!t to a blanket and shear off at a sideways look from a possum .
I use copper coat , a never seize type of product , on just about everything on my tractors . I am sick to death of fighting stuck bolts , sheared heads and rounded off tops . As long as you are neat and careful with it it shouldn't interfere with painting , Steve has a real point though , it can ruin an otherwise nice paint job if you leave globs around .
I even went as far as stuffing the wheel centre loops on the rear rims with Denso tape . These loops collect all sorts of mud and debris and virtually weld the bolts in . Using this waxed ,flexible , self amalgamating tape excludes all dirt and water and makes changing rim wheel base widths much easier .

The centres are just sanded and painted kaesark , the rims and guards are galvanised . No risk of rust and a nice soft zinc coating to sand , smooth and paint over .
