Z129 crankshaft thrust washer

I had the flange type front main bearing in the block. The new bearing set is the flange-less variety. Two identical thrust washers (not sure if that is the right term) came with the set. They both have the 3 holes in them. I understand one will line up and sit on the pins on the outside of the block.
My question is involving the one placed on the inside that takes the place of the flange. What keeps it from just spinning around with the crankshaft? I am also not sure which side of the washer should be facing the crankshaft.
I have not reassembled yet, I don't want to screw this up.
Hopefully someone out there can help a rookie with this engine overhaul.
By the way, it's on a 1954 TO30 that I have had for almost 20 years. I do not want to mistreat this motor, it has no block cracks and has served me very well.

I believe, though I could be wrong, place the inner bearing opposite of the outer bearing. The flat, not beveled side should ride against the front
of the block. The critical thing is setting the lash. That is the front to rear tolerance/movement that is set by the shims on the front of the
crankshaft. If I recall it is .007 tolerance.

I did a to20 years ago and had to cut shims from a bud can. Pins were broken off so I drilled and tapped adding screws. Can't remember inside shim but sounds correct.
