6 volt tea 20 condensor issues

G'day all,
Changing plugs , points and condenser on my 6 v tea 20, the
problem is with the condensor ( supplied by Massey ferguson
dealer and is supposed to be for both 12v and 6v systems).
When I put the new one in , it will run like sh&$, almost like it
is not running on all cylinders. Put the old one back in, and it runs
fine.
Why?
Thanks

Most spare part condensers are made in China and are really suspect . Slightly better ones come from Italy . Try to find a US made one if you can .
It is really difficult to find good ones , a dedicated vintage car spare shop might have decent ones .

Not unusual for new condenser to be defective out of the box. Take it back for replacement.

Condenser does not care if system runs on 6 or 12 volts

I'd put the old one in run it.
