generator need more help

I took gen off had it checked and it is good. Imust have it wired wrong because it still wont charge on tractor
 
Yes, do double check the wiring.

Then you'll need to polarize it since it has been off and tested.

If it still won't charge after a successful polarizing, the problem is likely with the regulator. The regulator must also be grounded. If it is the original regulator with the rubber mount straps, there will be a short ground wire from the base to the sheetmetal where it mounts.

If grounding the case doesn't fix it, open the cover and clean the contacts. Use contact cleaner and paper to blot the cleaner, don't sand or file. Even if it's a new regulator, sometimes the contacts need cleaning, especially if it was wired wrong or run without polarizing.

If you want to verify the generator is capable of charging, with the engine revved to 1500 or higher, ground the F terminal. The voltage should begin to climb, the amp meter should swing to the + side.
