What was the ground drive PTO for? I was told for trailer brakes in Europe,or PTO spreader,or PTO rake. Thanks Vaughn

Not sure on using it for trailer brakes!!!!

Was designed to be used with the pto run hay rake and there may have been a spreader that used the ground speed pto,

One more thing it will do, but Ferguson engineers probably would not approve of this use,

If you get your post hole digger hung in the ground, you can jack up one rear wheel of the tractor, then place the transmission in reverse, pto in ground speed , then let out on the clutch, the pto shaft will turn in reverse and allow the post hole digger auger to unscrew itself out of the ground, it works I have tried it,

John,
Forgot about a few other uses of ground speed pto,

If the corn picker or hay baler gets hung you can use the same procedure to un plug the machine, however with these machines you do not require you to jack up the rear wheel, just back up and pto turns in reverse direction,

But be careful doing this with baler, do not want to break a tie needle
