Little advice

I have read the various way to winter over a tractor. I have a 1955 TO35 which will be in the garage over the winter. Instead of going thru all the ways to winterize is it okay to start it up every 2 weeks or so and just go for a spin around the field. I have done this with the riding lawn mower in winter and snow blower in summer without any issues. Any thoughts?

If the tractor had not been run for a few weeks,

You might open one of the transmission drain plugs enough to let a small amount of oil run into a glass container
Chech to see if you have any water in the bottom of the sump,

Water will separate from the oil in the bottom of the sump after a few weeks,

If so you need to drain enough out to clean the water as your hyd pump sets low in the sump,
