Z129 Thrust bearing issue

TO-30GUY

New User
Hi guys, rebuilding my z129 engine, new crank, bearings etc... Engine had some end play issues I think the thrust washers were worn and wore a slight groove into the #1 cap and block. Can I order flanged bearings to cover this up or will those not fit, should I use regular bearings and try to get thicker shims? Thanks

To tighten the end play shims need removed from the crank, not added. Shims are between the front main journal and the thrust plate washer just behind the crank gear.

This is on the inside of the #1 cap, it had the regular style bearing a with shims on both sides. There is a slight groove worn on the inside of the #1 cap and I'm worried with the new shin there will be a gap there but I was thinking if I get the flanged bearing it will cover this groove? Thanks
