Moving fergy with no front wheels

Hi all

I have removed the front end *axle and housing) off my ted20 to replace parts. While it is this far apart i recon i will remove the motor, however it is not in the garage, its sitting out on the bitumen drive.

So thinking of a way to support the front end to wheel it to the garage. Anyone done this before??

OR the other option is to remove the motor where it is take motor to the garage then move the rear end to the garage for reassemble.

A pallet jack is the safest , otherwise if you're game and careful a trolley jack . But you absolutely have to protect the sump with a thick wooden block or steel plate , remember it's only alloy and thin at that .

Probably be easiest to temporary the front axle back on, get it on solid floor before trying to pull the engine.

It will be very difficult to move the rear end later unless you have a way to support the front.

bloody.....
right. Would be best to roll the whole carcass into the shed- with the front axle ON. Position the engine over a nice comfy wooden pallet... then remove the front end. This is where I like an atv jack- to roll the arsend back out of the way. You do have the other fergie and jib right? Didn't I say how nice it is to have 2 tractors and booms? didn't take long to put it to use eh? But? will it fit and lift while still in the garage? Whatever you try, do it dead slow. You don't need any carpentry projects...
If you lengthen the top link, then short chain the boom to the loose engine- will that work in the move? Again, why I like keeping engines close to the ground..
Nay bloody worries mate, she'll be right...

Yeah i thought probably easier to bolt front end back on an its not a tough job.. then easier to move.

Yep though about using the jib, though i have already tried taking out the roller door when the hydraulics had a mind of there own....

New pivot bits should be hear soon.

Here you go Big Tony....
wide stance wheels back on and sump offffffff.
Another mad max moment...

Think i found the source of my knockers.. stufffed bearing on no 3
Tested the main bearing as per 1260 engineer by jimming the flywheel, I see some movement...oh bugga

Right

Sump is off, About to remove front end to remove motor...

You recon its ok to use block of wood and jack on the bottom of the block with the sump remove to support motor while splitting...

Or best to split first then remove motor from front end... so many options..... I am going in decide the main and thrust bearings need doing. :p
