I have a Tea 20 here in Australia and I rebuilt the engine over 5 years ago and I runs like a clock mowing 24 acres regularly. The only minor problem I have always had from day 1 is that I have to make sure I don't run out of fuel (after hours of use) as restarting after refilling is always impossible. I simply leave it for an hour or so (The tractor does not have a radiator/overheating issue) and it starts and runs perfectly. I suspect I may have a vapour lock issue. Any thoughts. Many Thanks Brad

Vapor lock is what I'm thinking too.
That usually happens from the fuel line being too close to the exhaust manifold.
Also the line needs to be steel, not copper. Steel is less conductive, can make that little difference between boiling or not. And if there are any inline filters, they can be a problem for a gravity fed system.
Might try not running it out of fuel. If it's working hard, and starts to run out, it leans out, runs hotter, then suddenly shuts off. The heat will come up even higher.

I had the same problem with a To30,I thought radiator was clogged with grass seed and I would always clean it and everything was ok.Come to find out was my fan belt was loose and causing vapor lock

Thanks Steve and others for your replies. Your view on the copper fuel line has merit and is most likely the issue as my tractor has a copper fuel line and inline fuel filter. I will check and try to move the fuel line away as possible from the exhaust manifold. Many Thanks. Brad.
