Ha

Know that i have my two famed TED20s, i want to swap distrubutors for fault finding.

IS there anything i need to do to remove and make sure they go back in the right place for engine timing etc. The manual i have is not to clear on it, and never removed one before. I assume i just need to mark dizzy and the boldy so it go back in the same place?

And i assume i remove it at the bolts near the bolt for adjustment and not the housing bit that bolts to the motor.

Cheer

Ahoy thar cap'in Aleswiller... firse ye mark off the point a yer compass on the hull of the vessel.... I like a 'Sharpie'... but a grammar school crayon will float yer boat... afirs align the rotor to- say... 90 degrees.... then mark the block as a buoy wif yer crayon... then... says.... the wire nut be 5 degrees a port a dead head... mark yerself a buoy wif yer crayon again...
but ye must telegragh the engineering officer to lock the shafts and cool the boilers... or... you should align a pin thru the block into flywheel.... ooh... do the pommie made Standards ave that option?? I fergots.... I rebuilt one, but I don't remembers... too much rum ration?? Perhaps lock it to that 'topsail dead centre'... at the beginning... cause you don't want to accidently change the position of the gear on the camshaft.... cause I don't recall if the pommies had a dead tooth in there... the scurvy dogs... I bloody well doubt it!! So aye.. anchor it to TDC before yee cast off...
Then yer 2 dizzies or more if you commandeer an extra one- will keep each other cruisin' like a China Clipper catching the roarin forties across the Tasman Sea... that is all.. dismissed..
