I recently purchased a TO20 which I believe to be 1949. The engine is a four cylinder overhead cam engine. What weight oil should I use for year around use. I would like to use a quality multi weight oil.
Thanks Floyd.

Floyd, many on the forum (me included) use Rotella 15W40, year-round.

If you check the archives, I think you'll find that to be the most common recommendation.

I'm sure there will be other recommendations, taking into consideration the condition of your engine, any oil pressure issues, etc.

I would recommend the Rotella or Mobil Delvac diesel oil.it has a higher zinc compound which is good for flat tappet engines like most tractors and
early 6 and V-8 truck and car engines have.

I use shell rotella 15w40 oil in my TO35
Old tractor is a little tired but holds great oil pressure with this oil, uses no oil

Still runs and drives and starts fine,

I use this same oil in my dodge diesel truck, a real work horse

I use Rotella 15-40 like the other posts. Another thing to mention, use the AutoLite 3116 plugs. They don't foul as easily and run
better than the 386 plugs many catalogs list for your tractor. Also they are non resistor, which unless you have a radio installed, will
be a better option. I believe the plug wrench is 7/8.
