Ferguson to30-new to me 1953, have question on pic

I just pucked up this lil gem, few miles from my house. Its a 53, converted to 12v..has some hobjobbing so straightening that out but runs, the front pivot point has a bolt instead of pin though. My question is thete is a couple holes in trans near the drain plugs that seem to have yhe tails of cotter pins hanging down...are these normal. Attaching pics

I always wanted an 8n...grew up with one.
But this was close and basically the same. And its dads birth yr so kinda neat. They surely dont make stuff like they did in the 40s and 50s

A TO-30 will pull the lungs out of an 8N! Not knocking the N series but after Ferguson got away from Ford he could make the design changes that he wanted like an overhead valve engine and there is the result. First thing I would do though is fix the front axle pivot.

Ya i just am looking for parts drawing soi can figure out what i need. It looks like just a large bolt is through there with some spacers. Looks like maybe tack welded to keep from moving. Ill post a pic.
But ya its a nice tractor...

I here ya. My new tractor came with a new aftermarket radiator that is not installed on the tractor, IT is so light compared to the orignal, which was so heavy for a radiator.... The new one is off the tractor as it has a leak in it..
