Hello
I think this was discussed before
I am having trouble with my TO-30
when I am mowing (brush hog) and mower is running but tractor is not moving and I push clutch in and put into 1st gear the tractor lunges forward
seems like the clutch is not in .
any ideas

Didn't some one mention that to go back into 1st you have to idle down the throttle and wait till the clutch stops spinning the main shaft? That isn't fergie ideas, that goes back to the planetary transmissions of the early1900's... is the problem still there if you do this? Is the shaft on the hog still spinning as you try to go into gear? Do you have an over-riding clutch on the pto drive? Anything else could end up a big job...

I think you need to add an overun clutch to the pto. This will allow you to not only stop better when mowing ,but, will also help with putting back in gear while mower is spinning.

If you do not have LIVE PTO ? you might try an over running Clutch.

I have a override clutch on it
I have used this mower on my 8N and it does not do this
maybe my clutch needs adj.
it also seems to be so hard to get out of gear sometimes .

Problem solved
I installed a new over ride clutch
it works like a dream , I got looking at old clutch something must of bound up
inside I think one of the pins must of broke.
I can now back up and go forward and not have to wait till it stops spinning
Thanks for all the help ..
