Hello!
The Wife has been out running around with the mower on our '52 and came in complaining that the steering all of a sudden started getting very difficult. Pulled the steering wheel and found a very angry looking bearing, so have a top and bottom set on order. Found an old post that says I only have to remove the tube around the steering shaft to change out the bearings. I removed the 6 bolts holding the tube to the dash, and the 4 holding it to the gearbox. Removed everything from the shaft down to what looks like a really thick washer. When I lift up it only moves a tiny bit. Feels like it is trying to lift the shaft. Am I missing another step? Thanks for any help.
