Help TO-35 draft spring adjustment

Still struggling trying to get my Fergie back together

I have the top cover off and am trying to adjust the spring pressure for the levers. I got the position control ok. I cannot get any pressure for the Draft lever. If I back the nut off to where only half the threads are on the rod, the lever moves away from the bottom of the slot, but only maybe 1/16" and it's still immeasurable for pressure. And that's not gonna work since the nut will vibrate off.....

I have the draft hand control set between the dots (I sandblasted the bracket, so I can clearly see the dots). It seems that the draft fork needs to push up against the rollers (or not?) to get any reaction from the spring.

I got the tractorengineer.com DVD and I've read the shop manual. I'm pretty sure I understand HOW to do it - just not sure why I can't! There seems to be too much gap between the fork and roller. If I adjust the Draft hand control so it's further back, I can get spring pressure, but that's not how it should be set according to all the information I've read.

Does the draft rod have anything to do with the setting? The draft spring cup is seated correctly. Perhaps the rod is worn down? The rollers look good.

I've emailed John(UK) but have yet to hear from him.

I did take it all apart, but I put it back together with the aid of photo's I took prior, and it follows the DVD as to how it goes together, so I don't think I goofed that up.

Anyone have any suggestions?
