OK I need help any replies will be a appreciate I have a to 30 I just purchased about a month ago and have had no problems till now after I shred maybe 45 min tractor starts to warm up n cuts out a little and dies and barely turns over acts like battery is dead but won't boost off to the battery are the starter but will pull start now run for about 15 minutes and do the same again
.after setting cranks fine and does same all over again

You might be running a bit hot but your electrical issue may be that the battery is not charging. Do you have a working ammeter? Could also be a coil going bad.

Well since you were bushoggin I'd check to make sure that the radiator fins are clean. Dirty fins can let it run hot. Does it have a thermostat in it? It should and it should fully open around 185 degrees. It might not be functioning properly. Antifreeze about 1 inch below the neck?
One thing with electrical diagnosis everyone will want to know if it's 6 volt original or a 12 volt system. Good luck,

I'm going to clean radiator today but yes it is a 12 volt conversion and alternator seems to be charging tractor will run wen battery cable is disconnected and after it sets it turns over like fully charged

And what gets me is it won't boost off at all acts like battery is dead are motor is locked up but will bust rite of if you pull start

POSSIBLY Your engine is overheating and requiring more cranking amperage than your system is capable of delivering. Weak battery, bad starter, dirty ground, dirty pos cable. First bet might be to fully remove the cables and clean them. "It looked clean" Yeah. I have enjoyed those people over the few dozen years I have been pulling on wrenches. Man do they ever get egg all over the face when I cleaned the cables and the problem went away. I suspect with your's once, you clean the cables, post's and terminals, you just might find a weak battery. Weak either of age or DIRTY POST, CABLES AND TERMINALS.

Thanks positive cable is new all the way to the new starter and hooked to a new battery but I will try cleanings the ground the original grill gourd the covers the radiator was missing and someone had hada home made one on the bumper Wichita had a big gap to let dirt and grass in I rigged one outa some expanded metal and a old screen and I cleaned radiator so going to see if this helps with the getting hot thanks for the info everyone I will keep yall posted

Thinking you may have more than one problem...

The cutting out and dying could be electrical or fuel related.

Since it is a 12v conversion, was the coil changed or a resistor added? When it quits running, feel the coil. It should not be any hotter than the surrounding engine parts. If in doubt, replace it with a 3 ohm 12v coil and no resistor. Also check out the points, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. Be sure the distributor shaft does not have excess play, as the points will not stay set. The centrifugal advance in the distributor should turn freely and spring back when released. Be sure the timing is properly set, no clatter under load or starter kick back when cranking.

As for the fuel system, be sure the cap is vented. Try running with the gas cap loose, see if it changes anything. Another problem could be vapor lock. Check the routing of the fuel line, it should be as direct, down hill, free of kinks, no inline paper filter, made of steel, not copper, and routed as far from the exhaust manifold as possible. A good diagnostic would be to try a partial choke when it starts to die. If choking improves the running, it is lacking fuel.

As for the starter acting up when hot, as advised, check all connections. Those originally came with the ground cable attached to the sheetmetal. Try moving it to the engine block, scrape away the paint, tighten it securely.

But, the hard starting when hot is typical of bad starter bushings. Open the starter up, check the bushings. Look for evidence of the armature dragging inside the field windings. This will result in slow cranking, and sap all the energy away from the coil resulting in not enough spark to start.

Ok I left it in the back yesterday went this morning to get it and wouldn't crank I taped on the starter it fired rite up so think it's the starter . N maybe coil problems Makin it die ?? But do I have a over heating problem is 200 considered running to hot ??

Read the faulty thermostat thread a few above this post. It talks of drilling a bypass hole to lower the temperature. This might also help your running hot issue if the thermostat is working properly or maybe not quite perfectly.

Just another comment on possible issues with the starter...

I had a similar problem of not starting, especially when hot. In addition to bad bushings, I also had a bad soldered joint inside the starter at the stud. It was loose and that caused intermittent bad connections, and it left enough play that it caused an internal short as well sometimes. Anyway, another things to look at when you take the starter apart. They aren't really very complicated and you can probably fix it if you are handy.
