tractormeter cable routing TO 35 ?

!959 TO35 deluxe , continental Z134 engine . Serial no.SHM 197275 .

The cable was missing when i got the tractor. I have the generator with proof reader and tractormeter . I can't figure out where to route the cable so i can measure how long it needs to be. Can somebody show a picture of one on a TO35 gas engine or tell me how it's routed ? Thanks JIM

Thanks , I still need to know where to route it . Under carb, over carb left a battery case or right of battery case ? Looks tight any place i look . JIM

Sorry Jim, my generator and so forth are on a shelf waiting for me to find time to put it back together. I feel as if someone will be nice enough to take a picture and post it on here for you & me. LOL

Yes picture would be great. I tried to snake a 1/4 inch hose around things but never did find a good way to route it. I thought if i found a good way to put it then i would know how long the cable needs to be.

Cable run under battery box--down to transmission housing thru hole where gas line-
choke rod and heat shield bolts to engine--then to back generator. Be sure and grease
tack drive gear.If you need a picture I can send one this weekend.

This is about the best shot I could get of the cable without taking the battery out. It runs up behind the battery and into the dash. It's been a while, but I don't remember anything to tricky about it. I didn't try and measure the cable length, I just ordered a cable online for a gas TO35 and it worked.

Thanks a lot Dan, Picture is great and i can see what i was trying was the wrong route. I see the generator fits in closer to the engine than the Ford alternator somebody put on mine . That will help too getting it in away from my FEL . Again thanks JIM

Jim, I'm sure you considered this, but I'll mention anyway, there may be a reason why the cable is no longer present. It is possible the drive on the
genny or the terminal on the meter, or both, may be inoperable. If you can you might want to check that out somehow before you purchase a cable.

The tractormeter is locked up and will be replaced with a new one . I took the proof reader apart and cleaned it along with a little lube. It turns smooth when the genny is spun by hand . After checking the new route you showed me a 39inch one should work with the 5/8 and 7/8 ends. Ordered it so i will know in a few days.

Thanks for bringing that up. JIM

Cable and new tractormeter installed now and it works. Just need to get the generator rebuilt now. Thanks to all that helped on this little problem. JIM
