Ted20 the fuek tap is leaking, The gasket i pulled out was ofcourse well worn. I have tried oil joint gasket 0.4 and 0.8 mm thick, but the bloody valve will not stop leaking. Can someone tell me the thickness needed for the gasket and is there anything i need to look out for, as i getting over spillng fuel everywhere. :D

ps it is not the glass bowl leaking i have that one sused out.

Cheers

If it is the selector valve leaking the ' gasket' should be of thin cork sheet . Even with a new one the valve will leak if the mating surfaces are scored .
I fixed mine by glueing emery paper to one face reassembling it and turning back and forth many times . Remove the paper , stick some onto the other surface and repeat . This removed all the score marks and allowed the cork to seal it well .
The gasket is easy enough to make using a wad punch or you can buy them from this mob .

Yep I have seen those cork gaskets, I did patch the original gasket with gasket paper, Being worn makes sense and using the emery paper is smart thinking, man metal can be a pain in the A$%^ sometimes, think i prefer timber, a lot more forgiving and softer material.

Thanks for the tips charles
