TO-20 head gasket ??

I need to replace the head gasket on my TO-20. I plan to order a gasket off this site. Good quality? Should I be using a sealant with the gasket? Thanks all.

I am not a mechanic but the person that does my engine work says he will only use a smidge of vaseline on the gasket so when it starts tightening down it has the capability of letting the gasket move slightly. He has rebuilt a Z 129 and a Z 134 for me with no problems what so ever. Others will add their 2 cents worth shortly I am sure.

I did the gasket from this site as memory serves, it was a gray graphite composition and reading the manual said to cover it lightly with "cup grease". John(UK) informed me this was just simple drum brake short fiber wheel bearing grease as found in your front wheel bearings and a very light coating on both sides. This helps the gasket move as needed when tightening the bolts down. I can also tell you that once tightened down, any attempt to remove the gasket for what ever reason will result in the gasket being torn in half leaving residue on both the block and the head. Be careful not to confuse Newton Meters with Foot Pounds when using the torque wrench and best not to do it when your not fully alert.
