Hi everyone.. I have a problem, my manifold cracked. I bought a new one which was a heavier casting, and the studs weren't long enough to replace the nuts. I was told to remove the studs ( frozen in place ) I cut the studs flush with the head and unknown to me the studs were only in by about 4 treads.. Yup I drilled right into the water jacket.. Open to suggestions on what to do now.. Thanks in advance for your help...

Chase all threads with a bottoming Tap. I would then apply TEFLON THREAD DOPE on new studs. Run studs in ,install manifold.

Believe it or not, I did do that.. Took my time and ran a tap at each hole, covered each bolt with Teflon tape slowed it down but still oozing out..

White Teflon tape prone to tearing upon installation. Teflon sealant
liquid has a tendency to seal a bit better. Teflon tape is secondary to
yellow tape used on natural gas/propane lines. The yellow tape is a lot
tougher and works better on most applications that I have found.
Either yellow tape or liquid should end your seepage and allow for future
removal.

Check with a MACHINE SHOP and see if they can lend you a CATEGORY 2B Fastener for a trial fit:

OK Guy's I pulled each bolt out one at a time, cleaned and put (gas company) Teflon yellow tape around the treads about 5 - 6 times around each.. Well it seamed to work.. Thanks for all of your help..
