Does anyone have a fender mounted tool box they are proud of? - I need one and would like to do something that isn't in the way and doesn't make a mess of the fender -

thanks

hhh...not so much.
First thing I did was to remove the toolbox from the left fender: it was in the way, and made a mess of the fender, to boot.
And, whatever had been mounted on the right-hand fender must have been in the way to a Previous Owner, 'cause it had been torn off, leaving that nice gash. (I think he also needed some sway bars!)

When I was too young to remember, my father bolted a steel .30 caliber ammo box to the left fender. I'm 64 now and the box is still there, still holds the tow chain and some spare parts, and still keeps the dirt out, unlike the open one shown above. I can post a picture later if you need to see where it is mounted.

I have seen them mounted behind the seat. Doesn't get in your way when adjusting the lift heights or turning to look behind you like the ones on the
fenders sometimes do, but can keep you from flipping the seat up when you park tractor. The open ones like in left fender can attract mice or wasps on
tractor not used much. The .50 caliber box on the fender sticks out too much, but .30 caliber is ok, as mentioned. Just some observations.

that looks good - what is the nature of the bracket that holds it on?

tractor looks good too, congrats -

I drilled holes through the radius rod. In the UK where this method of mounting the tool box is more
common they have special brackets that mount over the radius rod, so no holes need to be drilled. I
was thinking of making brackets, but did not. The tool box is from a TE Ferguson that I found at a
salvage yard, the tractor also has a built in fender tool box but the tool box I mounted is the one I
use the most. The tractor is a 1955 TO35 and is one of the nicest tractors I have ever owned.

Nice TO35,
I always use the fender tool box on my 1957 TO35,

Over the years the fender rusted out, I replaced it and cutout the tool box hole (very carefully) it worked and looks pretty good,

I did either, lose or misplace, my original Ferguson plow wrench which was stored in that tool box, also kept the rear tire changing tools in the box,
After buying a vintage replacement Ferguson plow wrench, I took all the Ferguson tools out of the box and now store them in my shop,

With no locking lid or cover door, tools can bounce out of that fender toolbox with no cover door,

So if you really value a tool, secure it somewhere else other than that open fender toolbox!!!!!
