Not in as great of shape as I had hoped, but, I think I am doing good still! He was asking $100 for it, I gave him $70, didn't want to pay much more than that for it.

Both of the sides are straight, and so is the floor. Back of it is a little banged up, but I think I can straighten it out pretty well. There is a little break in it, but I will touch that up and it is pretty well hidden anyways. The worst part of it in my opinion is on the right side of the front of the box (left side in picture) where that 4 inch piece of angle iron is missing.... No fixing that! :/

Pretty cool though! I asked him about the tail gate, and he told me that he remembers when his dad bought it brand new, and is 99% sure that it never even had one? Not sure if that is true or not, but the holes show NO wear where the tail gate would have gone?

Going to get it cleaned up and painted one of these days... I like it already. :)

Measure the size of the angle iron and install a brand new piece right across the repair area. Sand blast/paint. You've got a new box. Now find a tailgate!Good Luck

I might try to do that... I am becoming more and more of a Ferguson fanatic. I just love the looks of them, the color, etc.

If anyone knows where I can find a tail gate, let me know!!! Bryce

Good work, Bryce. Nameplate, to boot!

Thats the best part of the hunt isn't it?

You are walking through a field, see something potentially good, beat the grass off of it, find a plate, spit on your finger and give it a wipe, and then history stands out at you.... Your heart is filled with joy, all while your wallet is quietly sobbing.... :p

Not so common to find the tailgate missing , this fellow makes a living out of supplying them amongst other reproductions .

His site makes interesting reading for someone who is handy in the shed .

Bryce you need to stay off Tractor Talk and spend more time on this site. That is if you want to learn something. LOL

For hooks you mean where they grab around the lift arms? Looks to me like I only ever had 1 on this one? Maybe not though...

Bryce Ferguson also has a red which you may get to like better. Which color do you like best we have a good selection. Our club does not try to take you away from what you like it just happens. LOL

There aint nothing there you can't fix! Cut out the bad, weld in the new... The tail gate looks like a piece of 6" C purlin with some latch brackets welded to it.

Go to sleep thinking about it for a couple nights, you'll find a way!
