Pushing snow with 3 point

So I have a snow blade and I've been pushing the snow (backwards of course) and I'm curious if this would create any negative stress on the lift arms or the control spring set up for the top link. I've allready stripped a crappy old top link. It was ancient and I really was not suprised at all but it made me wonder. I'm not plowing at full speed like a banshee, just a nice slow pace to keep it safe. What are your thoughts about using a 3 point "backwards" my tractor is a tea30 1947 I think

I've used an 8N with 6' blade, an 860 with rear mounted v-type blower just fine. The main thing to maybe watch is to use the lower hole on the top link attach point if your tractor has an upper and lower holes. We never had them but stabilizers would help keep things more in line as the blade/blower may drift from side to side when pushing backwards. My current tractor has adjustable sway chains which I tighten after mounting the blower. Keeps it nice and stable. Less apt to bump things when getting close.

thats good to know. I need to get mounts for my lower stabs (coming soon) but I only have a single hook up for the top link. It does have the control spring so it may be ok. But yeah the stabilizer bars I really need to get hooked up properly

Back blading for snow/dirt you should have a pair of sway bars on. They should be set up as shown in photo

Just a thought. If you're moving snow and don't have any way to keep the blade off the ground, then turn your blade around backwards. If you're moving snow off gravel, you'll save a lot of lost gravel that way ... and it's a lot easier on the tractor. I always have the blade backwards whether I'm backing for moving forwards.

Just my 2 cents.

X2 Joe. Not only saves gravel on the driveway but gravel cleanup
off the grass in the spring. Definitely easier on the arms too.
Stabilizer bars are still a great idea to stop side-to-side movement.
