There is different models about new starter solenoids. Could someone tell which is the best new starter solenoid model? I heard that meny people have starter solenoid problems (new ones)...

Well for one that is not exactly a solenoid. I believe it looks more like a switch. Yes, china makes a
lot of weak junk. They don't have much idea of what goes into a part, just how to make a cheap copy.
I would have to find the old one and try to clean the contacts or better yet, do as I did and use the
starter switch to activate a solenoid that trips the starter. Switch will last as it does not have a
lot of amperage blowing across it and the solenoid is a bit easier to replace.

There is only one type of Switch for the TE type tractors. The switches available now are not as good as the original but often the problem is incorrect adjustment of the Switch on top of the Clutch Housing. These slots for screws should be cleaned out and possibly made longer. You need to check that the Gear Lever does not apply too much pressure or not enough pressure. You should adjust the switch using a Voltmeter or a lamp so that you can set it properly. The Lucas part number was 76418/ The MF part number was 829960M91 but there are other suppliers.. Hello John!
Could you tell me how I adjustment new starting switch? Do I first put (adjustment) starting switch as far forward as possible? Or far back as possible?

I nearly missed your mail, always try to reply direct then I will be sure to get it plz
When you fit the switch, slide it fully back towards the Seat, to adjust properly, use a lamp or voltmeter across the two terminals. Now Push the Gear Lever forwards fully into the start position. If the Lamp or Voltmeter is showing a contact then the switch is set, but if it isn't, then move the switch forwards until the lamp lights up. Make sure that you adjust the switch so that it is switching on properly and not just barely touching inside or you will burn out the contacts. Make sure that you clean out the slots for the screws or you wont get the enough adjustment.. John(UK) [email protected]
