TE20 problems

Howdy out there, I have an old TE20 and am having trouble with it starting up. The motor cranks but wont fire up, replaced coil and cleaned up gas line, and planning on switching out plugs. Other than that, I am stumped, because this is the first Ferguson I've worked on, Any bright ideas?

Check the fuel flow to the carburettor , this should really pour out . Check the spark , this should give you an almighty belt .
If both are good try giving the tractor a compression test . The valves in a Standard engine have a tendency to stick if left idle for long periods . If an intake valve is stuck it won't be able to suck in enough of the fuel air mixture . While you are at it clean out the air filter , the mesh inside can look worse than a camel driver's armpit after sixty odd years of neglect .

mine has the same problem. I'm going to rebuild the carb soon. I do have good spark as I found out the hard way. But don't feel bad you aren't alone on this one. I will let you know what makes mine run better (if you don't beat me to it)
