any of you have one of these?
Speed reduction gear drive for a TO20 or TO30

I assume this is to run the 3 point hitch hay rake, would be a nice option to have for your TO20 or TO30
I understand the ground speed on my TO35 is for use with the Ferguson hay rake.

I do not know what other uses ground speed pto has other than to jack one rear wheel up and place the tractor in reverse, it will run the ground speed pto in reverse direction and unscrew the post hole digger out of the ground, if it gets hung up.
might also unplug a corn picker or baler, do not know

no not mine,
I was just watching a you tube film about making hay with Ferguson and MF equipment, they were using a TO20 or 30 to rake hay with a Ferguson 3 pt hitch hay rake,

it got my interest, how they were driving the pto rake, then they showed this gearbox.

cannot be too many of them out there, probably why so many folks around my area of west ky used a trailer type New Holland hay rake.

I have a TO35, 1957 model, dad bought it in 1960, always wondered what that ground speed pto was used for,

only in the last couple of years watching a you tube film, did I see a Ferguson hay rake being driven by the ground speed pto.

hope I never have to use that reverse option on the ground speed pto to unstick my post hole digger, thought that was a cool use for the ground speed pto.

They are rare in the UK as well , many people are interested in having one in their collection .
There are a few here in Australia and in New Zealand as well , the rake does a really nice neat job , works as well as, if not better than some modern equipment , just smaller .
There is another way of winding the auger of a post holer out if its stuck . You put it in neutral and use the Ferguson spanner on the square part of the prop shaft and turn it manually
Surprisingly it isn't too hard .
Nice equipment you have by the way .

No the unit was mine. I got it out of a closed dealership. NOS, just a little wear from sitting on the self. I
sold it a few years ago to a guy from Ireland.

Charles,
It's funny, when people find out you have a 3 pt hitch post hole digger, you have a bunch of new friends

Not a tool you use much, but at my age it's worth every penny I paid for it if I need to set a few post,

I have one. I think mine is NOS as the person I bought it from said it was all in a box in a basement he put a bid on to clean the whole basement out. Ended up with 4 pick up and two trailer loads of misc. STUFF. My chain was also not finished being assembled like yours. I know George Bradish has the correct decal for it and I am fairly sure his part number for it is D345. I think S. Bieberich told me he had a NOS and he knew of one other NOS unit before seeing mine. They certainly are not something you are going to see very often at farm auctions. I will try to show a picture of mine.

I tried the ground pto out on my 58 TO35 while tedding hay and it worked really good to fluff it up into a tall fluffy wind row instead of spreading it out wide like it usually does. I liked the way it worked.

It could be but I really don't remember his name. I do remember he said he wanted it for a gift for his sons tractor.
Here's a shot of the other side for anyone who is interested.
