Ran When Parked...

good grief I give, at most $100.00 for them and haul them straight to the scrappers. Has been a while since I had a fergy though.

Why would you take them to the scrapper? Do you know how much more you could potentially make by parting them out and keeping the original parts available for restorers? Of course I realize that would entail a little work, where many people aren't wanting to work. You have very little invested by taking it straight to the scrap yard. Everybody does it the way they like.

Bought right a good project. I just bought a 1953 TO30 with Wagner loader for $800. Great rear tires and was running when put away a few
years ago. See my post for latches to see picture.

I have a TO-30, original yellow paint, Wagner loader, looks like factory cut hood with two spring latches at dog legs. Has hole in hood for gas but to access anything else you remove the complete top of the hood. Normal dash latch holds the rear. Expect that is what you are looking for. My tractor came from PA, and I think it might have been used as school tractor, perhaps for snow or gravel work. Loader is Wagner WM-3. Since these loaders do not have a clutch, and the front pump turns with the starter, I eventually converted the tractor to 12 volts, and it starts much better. I like six volts ok for most, but having the pump inline made it turn very slow in winter, which is when you need it.

Richard I will tell you--I used to sell 8-9-2 n parts. I now work full time and trusted people. I sold a starter to a guy down by Kansas city. When I got home that night the starter was gone, the money was not in the box on the shed wall and a almost new set of rear tires was missing. I have an app on my phone that pinpoints where a call comes from. Long story short, I had to go to Kansas city area, take a deputy sheriff, and get my parts back. When I was selling parts, I always put my name in small letters inside the bead on the tires and stamped a number on all metal parts. With that proof I was able to get the stuff back. I cannot be there when most people are able to show up, It is easier to scrap them than go thru that again.

Seems like such a waste, sending Fords an Fergusons to the scrap yards. I grew up with these fine little tractors and am quite fond of them, and I know if taken care of they can be great tractors. I know they are worth far more then the price of scrap to me. I am 62 years old and have never been with out an N Ford, although I have many tractors now I could go back to an N tractor as the only tractor again,(10 acres) if I had to. (we used to farm 160 acres with a 2n). I know there have always been N Ford haters, and that is ok, but I am not one of them. After showing the world how to build great farm tractors the U.S.A. no longer builds a suitable small tractor replacement for the N series tractor and, that is kind of important to me. Not that the off shore tractors are not good tractors its just I prefer my tractors to be built in north America or the U.K. These are my thoughts.(I am Canadian)
