Saved by a Kubota

Got too close to pond and mud. Friend with little 25 hp Kubota pulled he out with no trouble. Wasn"t sure he could do it. Merry Christmas

Aww, poor little Fergie! Glad it turned OK, Phlash. Maybe you and the Fergie can return the favor to that Kubota someday. (What's that tractor in the background of the second photo?)

Oklahoma looks about like Missouri: wet and green, for this time of year.

And, a Merry Christmas to you, too!

Ph,
glad you got out ok,

just how have you kept that little tractor so straight and clean with no front guard,
I would have the front grill and chin bent all to pieces as stuff tends to jump out in front of my little TO35.

Ph,
one other thing to check,
anytime you get stuck like you did

you need to check that transmission weep hole under the belly of the transmission, if your tractor has one, my TO35 does,

when you are stuck like that, mud can get up into that drain hole and stop it up.
if your tractor weeps any oil, the oil can build up inside the clutch area and then get on your clutch.

ask my how I know this, it happen to me, got stuck about like you, did not check the weep hole, oil built up inside the housing and got on my clutch, had to replace the clutch.

Anybody with a tractor who does anything gets stuck from time to time.

Only time it ever bothers me is if I end up getting pulled out by a JD tractor. The ultimate in humiliation.

BTW - That might be a good thread - Stuck pictures.

There are TWO WEEP holes one directly behind the Engine and one about 6 - 10" further back, just in front of the Transmission. They should really have a cotter pin in each one so that the hole will keep clean and clear, but often they are removed or broken off...John

Yep. I didn't expect situations like this when I bought my place in OK. Ya need pontoons half the year. I didn't need my Kubota to pull a fergie out yet, but it did need the fwd a few times. Like Max said, a bumper or grill guard would be a good investment, everything up there is a $100 bill. Most of my bumpers have a trailer hitch on them, which is as easy to manuver as one in the back.

Good point on the cotter key,
However, I had a up side down cotter key in the hole, you have to drive in weeds and grass for the key to turn, apparently I did not for a while after I got stuck,

So the oil still built up in the sump area.

I now keep the oil level at the mid point on the dip stick, have had less weep oil problems.

Boss there is a section for that. Left column under Galleries it is called Stuck & Troubled. Another place to enjoy a couple hours. LOL

Oh the shame you must feel. Getting pulled out by an orange interloper. I would have had to get a chain and a pole. Using the chain around the pole and through the wheel scallops. That becomes a pole vaulting machine and should pull it's self out...
My free 17 HP orange interloper is used a bit more than the Fergy...

Wife stuck the Kubota in a ditch. Neighbors visiting JD 40U was handy and weighted. Pulled the orange interloper out with no problem.
