ferguson to30 exhaust valve caps

the new exhaust valves that come with the kit do not have holes for the caps. do i need them ? or can i use intake valve caps? :?

If the valves over all length is 4.079" then a cap is not required..if it measures 3.989" then it is designed for a cap. People run the short valves without caps but the short valves do not have hardened tips to handle the stress of the rocker arms pounding on them plus it throws the valve train geometry off.
 
Now that the head is assembled, look at the length above the retainer, compare the old valves to the new.If
the new valves are taller, they probably are designed to not have caps.
