Sometimes you can get a single-piece downpipe and muffler. It costs a bit less. Then later, the muffler rots out but the downpipe is still good, and you get to buy just the muffler and clamps etc.

If you use a single piece type of muffler two clamps are all that is needed and that goes around the back end of the muffler and hooks onto a bottom stud just in front of the rear axle trumpet. The other clamp goes on the manifold. If you use the other style I believe you need four clamps one on the manifold, two on the muffler and another smaller clamp to hold the front of muffler and the pipe coming from manifold together. John Deere D picture shows it very well if you use the two piece system.

Steve that is a Ferguson Parts book and this is the Ferguson board. What other board are you talking about?

He might be referring to the ntractor web site. They have a lot of manuals in full .pdf form. I have a few on my computer from them.

The other board is pretty much Ford only. I have one of those manuals around here also. You *might* get lucky and find one on fleabay with constant searching and a hundred bucks. I think mine came for either $25 or $45. I cannot remember, but I do remember what I was begrudgingly willing to go for one.

While mostly Ford, The N Tractor site does have TO20, TO30 and 35 Operator's Manuals, as well as manuals/brochures/ads for many Ferguson implements and accessories, including the Ferguson Tractor Jack.

(quoted from post at 01:26:08 12/15/15) Sure be nice to have a pdf copy of that parts book available here or on the other board

Anybody can look at the parts book. Go to agcopartsbook.com and click on guest user, type 20 in the search box, select Massey Ferguson and hit search. It will pull up the parts book.

The NBoard has some TO20 and 30 pdf operators manuals in their manuals section and other Fergie stuff but no parts manuals. Prefer pdf of original manuals to the present store bought stuff as those are very poor copies (I bought a service manual and the pictures are terrible). I'm beginning work on a TO-30 now and will need a good copy of an original parts manual. Just hoping someone had scanned an original to download.

How's the TO-30 coming along, Steve? I remember you posting about it several months ago. (Weren't you looking for sheet metal?)

Hi Tom,

Have not gotten to much further, we got it started after several years of sitting, put some thin oil in the cylinders for a couple of weeks then
pressurized the system with fresh oil introduced through the oil gage tube, put a battery on it, cleaned the carb, new coil and points and a
check of the spark plug gaps and it started right up. After running the smoke from the cylinder oil out we drove it some and it held good hot
oil pressure without smoking. Later checking compression all cylinders were a good 120#. So engine appears good except for some rattling
noises that I have not yet gotten to the heart of, suspect governor, oil pressure, compression and lack of smoke lead me to believe no
serious issue-will put a stethoscope on to it and find it. Still debating whether to straighten the dog legs and grill or get replacements.

Pulled the wheels and had them sand blasted and have painted the fronts and re-plated the rear rims (zinc) as I did on my 8N. Cost me
$120 for the pair. These were original 1952 dated Goodyear units. Purchased new front and rear tires which I have yet to get mounted.

In September my wife decided we need to take a vacation in Europe for a month so that slowed me and after getting back she has not let me
off from various house hold projects she has in mind.

My friend who owns the tractor has it at his place but I plan to bring it to my shop soon where I can get some serious work done. Fergies are
much harder to find info on than N's but I like them. Been thinking of asking you for your e-mail address as I'm sure you could answer my
occasional questions.
