Tractor seems to be fairly strong but has a constant pop,pop out the exhaust. Not a loud pop just soft.
What can be done to fix this problem?

Remove VALVE/ROCKER COVER and check clearance of all VALVES?
Remove VALVE/ROCKER COVER and check for VALVE LIFT/WORN CAMSHAFT?
Check all HIGH Tension SPARK PLUG LEADS. Meter....ohms?
Check all SPARK PLUGS?
Inspect all components of the DISTRIBUTOR?
Inspect CAM inside Distributor, possible flat lobe?
Inspect inside of Distributor Cap?
I had the similar sound on my Ferguson and the VALVE GUIDES were worn out of tolerance.

poup poup poup poup. Sounds like the beginning of a burnt exhaust valve from here.
Home Depot fuse removal pliers made of 100% nylon are great to pull plug wires while listening to
the exhaust pipe. Noise goes away? You found the cylinder.
