I am now looking for replacement rear wheel studs for my TO30. All the sites I have visited, including YT, have studs that fit the TO30, but they are designed differently than the ones we took off.(See photo: Stud on left came from TO30, one on right is what most sites offer with shoulder) All the new studs I can find have a shoulder between the threads and splines and just won't pass through the holes on the plate. Anybody know what's up with that? Thanks.
PS Never did find the brake springs.

I would just grind off a little of the shoulder so that it would go in the hole and use it that way or maybe you could make the hole just a little bit bigger. It may not be OEM but you have all the others to help hold the wheel on so it is not going to fall off if that is what you think if you redesign it a little.

Could someone have replaced with newer model studs? There are several studs that looks similar. MF 200-300-600 series looks same. MF #847416M1---Ford NH-#'s E4NN1NNN8AA---C5NN1117R also looks similar. You could go to dealer and compare if you want the same type. The original studs are like the new one you have in all my information.

I can't see the problem. It is a common one size fits all wheel stud.
Can you show us a new stud after you tried to pound it into place? So we can see where it is getting hung up? Most people just draw it tight with an air tool as soon as you can catch a thread.
They are designed to be rather on the tight side, or there'd be a lot of wheels falling off stuff out there...

Take a set of calipers and measure the old one then the new ones. I am sure the old ones are going to measure less as they look beat up but using common sense they will be close. If the old nut fits on the new stud you should be alright. As you probably know this is not the first item that is redesigned from the old original style.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. The best fit to match the original wheel studs for my TO30 was a Dorman (pn 610-292), 9/16"-18X2 1/16. The knurl is .623" x 3/4". Something to keep in mind if you need replacing any wheel studs on your TO30.
