TO30 Loss of Oil Pressure

I know this issue has been address before, but I wnat to double check what I think the issue is. My to30 oil pressure was running at 20lbs all the time. Then the other day it just dropped to 0lbs, it was time to change the oil anyway, so I went ahead and change the oil and filter. There still isn't any oil pressure, the guage is not that old and I also took the line off at the block nothing.

I'm thinking something to do with the oil pump itself and not the bearings since the pressure went from 20 to 0 all at once.

Any thoughts.

I would drop the pan and pull the oil pump off. I had a pump spin off the retaining screw on the pump drive gear, hence total loss of pressure. It
may also be the spotter pin holding the pressure relief wore out. Either item oh will need to drop the pan.

Thanks Tom,

I went ahead and ordered a oil pump rebuild kit, so I will be dropping the pan. I just needed someones thoughts on this to make sure I was tracking. Thanks again

No I didn't forget, I also ordered a valve cover gasket, because I thought I'd check the valve clearance while I was working on the engine.

Thanks for the reminder tho.
