TE20, easiest way to remove lower link support pin?

Hi there.
On the inside, the pin has a cotter through it holding a nut in place.
I need to get to it, to loosen the pin so I can put a gasket under the support plate and then tighten it again. At the moment it has no gasket and the pin is so loose that it leaks from the support plate.
It's the one on the driver's right hand side, so it is reachable if I remove the PTO, but I haven't yet been able to pull out the cotter that way.

What is the easiest way to do this? Hints and advice most welcome.

Is your TRACTOR PRIOR to SERIAL NO. 325001 ?

Drain OIL as you are going to drop something...only a matter of time.
You may have to bend/shape design a tool for this Job if you do not lift ITEM # 39 off?
If you are unable to perform the task of tightening the nut then remove the TOP CONTROL cover # 39
NOTE
YOU MUST DISCONNECT # 24 before lifting # 39

Ok...You do not need to remove the top cover to access this pin.....simple way is to drain the oil and remove the wheel and fender and then undo the nuts around that trumpet housing and remove the housing....Put a sealer around the pin when refitting. You may need lifting gear to take the half axle off in one piece, but if you undo the nuts at the outer end the shaft and brakes will all pull out of the axle as one part...The trumpet housing is an easy lift then. Ensure your new gasket is similar in thickness to the old one as this could mess up the bearing pre-loads....If you ever want to change both pin it is easiest to remove the left trumpet and lift out the diff...This allows access to the pin inside the removed trumpet and with a long extension on the socket, you can do the right hand side in situ!...................Sam
