Ferguson TEA-2085 restored back to life

A few photos of my 1954 TEA 2085 tractor that hadn't been run for the past 20 years. My dad bought it new in 1956. It came with a ferguson front end loader. It done a lot of work on the home farm. I spent many hours driving it plowing, cultivating, cutting grass and baling, etc. I took upon myself to restore the old fellow this summer. It took a lot of hours and also a lot of new parts to get it back close to original. Tires were no good, sidewalls were split open, Rear rims were rusted through, new fenders installed and a lot of small parts had to be replaced. Got it all back together, oil and gas in, spun over 3 times and started up. Adjusted the carb and the tea 2085 runs really good. It has been a good old tractor. I'm a member of a local tractor club which puts on a show for all color tractors every summer. Fergie will be in it next year. Thanks, Johnny R

What country are you from ? Have you got the name of the dealership your dad bought it
from ? Do you know what your dad paid for it? Sorry for all the questions, I find it very
interesting that you still have it after all these years.(awesome)

Hi Benj R
To answer your questions, I live in Ontario, Canada. The dealership where Dad bought the tractor is long gone. I was 12 years old at the time. I remember walking home from public school that day and seeing this brand new tractor with a front end loader parked beside the barn. I was quite impressed.. My older brother, myself, as well as Dad spent a lot of hours driving the tractor on the farm. We also had a 1948 Ford Ferguson, which my brother still has. According to my brother, the TEA-2085 cost in the area of $2000.00. It was in use until 20 years ago when Dad passed away. It sat in the shed, unused until this summer when I decided to restore it. I must say it cost far more to restore than it cost new, however, it's a family heritage item.

I also live in Ontario Canada, and was 13 when my dad purchased a 1953 TEA 2085. Like you, I found the cost of restoring the family heirloom exceeded the original purchase price. If you would like to exchange experiences, my e-mail is [email protected]
