Will to35 rear end fit in a 231

I have a 1996 Massey 231 with a bad rear end. I have a to35 parts tractor. Will the rear ends swap out

Probably not...I would say the shafts will be you problem. Early tractors used 6? spline shafts whilst later tractors used multi-spline(maybe 21?) shafts. what is wrong with the 231 rear end?

It starting popping real loud now it will hardly move

My old boss had a 231 that started grabbing and binding up. It was the bearings in outer end of the rear axle. Your results may very but it beats a whole axle swap.
